Thinking about one's own thinking: explicit reading instruction

Sylvia has worked in public education for the past 14 years, she has taught: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade (dual-language). She worked as a reading campus instructional coach for three years and currently serves as a reading instructional lead coach for her district.

Explicit modeling and metacognition are essential for student success in any classroom. In this session, I will share how to make the best of your read aloud to explicitly teach reading comprehension skills.
